Great video! What kind of 3m rubbing pad do i use? do they make ones specific for the ROS? is there a particular grit? i have a random orbital sander, but i don't know of anywhere local that sells 3m products. any advice would be appreciated :-)

Steve, at the end, it appears you use two different kinds of rubbing pads with the orbital sander...one is black in color and the other is white. Would you please explain the steps you have used at the end as well as more information about these different pads used? Great video.

I just loved that silky blue finish. Thanks for sharing

Excellent video. From the film quality to your vocabulary this tutorial was very clear and informative. The tip at the end about using 3M rubbing pad on a random orbital sander for refining is something I will definitely try on my next water-based urethane finish. Thanks for posting.

thanks for the video this is the best video on how to use the water based . also have a question can this be sprayed on.?
Glad to help!
Yes, by urethane I mean the clear finish. And yes, waterbased urethane can be used over oil based stains. Just make sure the oil based is fully dry. A couple of days will do.
Hope this helps.

Good Morning BruBanta,
The 3M rubbing pads I use come in different grades. For finishing work, I use the dark fine grade on its own, or the super-fine to create a gloss. Lightly sand the surface with 240-grit paper wrapped in a block of styrofoam after applying four coats of urethane to knock off hardened dust bumps. Put the 3M pad on the wood, the sander on the pad, then switch on and buff. The fine pad will give you a matte look, and additional buffing with super-fine will give you a gloss.
