Before the 1993 Grey Cup game, legendary CFL broadcaster Don Wittman recorded a series of vignettes about great CFL championship games he had covered for CBC. This one shows him reminiscing about the 1972 Grey Cup.
Fleming got one foot in. Made me a Ti-Cat fans watching this way back when (well, actually 1972, of course) mainly because of those funky Ti-Cat striped goalposts. Hey, I was a kid! Later became a huge Garney Henley fan.
Roughriders were robbed in 72 Grey Cup. Garney Henly (Ham) was clearly out of bounds for a touchdown, and Bobby Thompson was clearly in bounds for a touchdown that didn't count.
Even though this was filmed in 1993,Hamilton had won a Grey Cup since 1972 in 1986 against Edmonton.6 years after this was filmed, they also had upset my Stamps in 1999 for all the marbles!
Wow this is almost forty years ago

Riders should have easily won
