MARLOS NOBRE,
Concerto Breve for Piano & Orch,
Part 2.
Simon Bolívar Symphony Orchestra
Conductor: José Serebrier
Piano: Marlos Nobre
Teatro Teresa Carreño, Caracas.
"One of the most striking Piano Concertos written in the second half of the 20th Century, a genre so trodden since Mozart that it is difficult fo renew. This "Concerto Breve" of 1969 it is an extraordinary work but it is not just a dry "exercice de style": it is highly evocative, coloristic and dramatic composition,of strong impact.
I love even more this second part of the Concerto Breve. It is like a wild bird, free and powerfull. The great composer Nobre construct a strong sound image that keep sounding in our imagination even after the last closing tremendous climax.
A real great Piano Concerto of our times.
