If the U.S. is already hiring private defense contractors, should we extend the market principles further and recruit soldiers for the U.S. army from around the world, especially from low-wage countries?

  • But the Gurkhas STILL fight for the britih army....

    However they have also highlighted another economic factor that needs to be taken into account which is that they have won further citizenship rights. Whatever the merits or demerits of this are the point is it provides another source of immigration which will need to be factored in against any cost saving provided by the outsourcing of military services.
