and also it wasnt his primary focus obviously.... but he had the concept of being a well-rouded fighter as you, me, mas oyama, takachi azuma, and other mma fighter. And most of martial artist now techniques of other arts, like self-defense techniques, maybe is the passion for the martial arts i dont now. but just like Oyama was dan 10 y karate and 4 dan in judo bruce lee had and enormous library of martial arts books and i think que did studied something because his jkd filosofy.

I know you a lot more than me of martial arts, and for your experiencie and age, i respect you. And im sorry for the way i spoke, it wasnt respectful. I think that bruce lee did study ground fighting, and in the tao of jeet kune do he does talk about the groundfight and grapplers tecnique. He didnt studied BJJ because 40 years ago, BJJ was a very unknown style...

@tutatos In response to claiming i don't know much about him: well, my school was involved with telling bruce lee not to teach outsiders. IF you study deeper, you will know bruce lee left for seattle because of certain people in SF's chinatown. Guess who that family of gung fu and Tong Members were? If you study his history deeper, you will know that Bruce Lee only made one comment about one true master he had ever met. and that was Prof. Lau Bun of the Hung Sing CLF school. peace bro.

@tutatos I don't believe i said he never picked up ground fighting techniques, but if he DID study Ground Fighting, who was his ground fighting teacher? IMHO, picking up a move here and there isn't actually studying or knowing a system. Still who was his ground fighting teacher? anyhow, i know more about bruce lee than you realize. please don't assume i don't know anything. I've been trained by my sifu to be very selective with what i say openly about certain people.
@sifufrank..Cool i didnt know u guys were doing BJJ..Im glad to hear that CLF is incorporating BJJ into the system, see thats what Im saying MMA should a part of trainning for all systems..back in the late 80s i was training in different styles, till in 1993 when i joined the Gracie Academy it opened up my eyes, then years larer i realized my ground game was good but my stand up wasnt great, thats when i did MMA Muay Thai, Boxing, BJJ, and also some Krav Maga, JKD.

@liotta75 normally i don't teach for the ring. I'm old school like that and feel martial arts was designed for self protection. I like CLF because it was designed for combat and causing the most damage it can. the only thing it lacks is a good ground game. so yes, the future of CLF at least in my hands will being blended with some BJJ...but our primary focus will always be a stand up system.
