Just a few test shots with Canon HF S30 HD camcorder with Tusket, an energetic Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. A natural star, he loves to perform in front of a camera.

I am by no means a videographer. Camera is a little shaky at times.

Camera was on autofocus and cinema mode. One negative thing I noticed after reviewing the videos: when panning with the HF S30, the edges in the shot become jagged... you'll notice this happens to the edges of the trees in the background when panning the shoreline. I'll have to try some more shots to determine if this was because the camera was on autofocus, or something else.

  • Yes, panning issue was because I rendered/edited in iMovie. I've used Adobe Premiere for more recent videos and the quality is superb.

  • what did you render to from your editing software?? use quicktime animation compressor for best and create a divx to upload to youtube..

  • Are you sure that this is Canon hf s30?

Maybe you use a bad convertor?

  • Awesome camera. Just got mine a few days ago.
