Dyna, commissioned in 1968 by Sparkman & Stephens, built by Palmer-Johnson; aluminum, 52-foot sloop.
Al will never forget the first time he encountered Dyna. He was racing on Chesapeake Bay and heard a roar behind him. He turned around, and there she was, spinnakers flying, charging through the fleet. From that moment, he knew he had to own her. Ten years later, his dream came true, and over the past 30 years, Dyna has proven to be more than a pretty boat. Shes brought so much to our lives, a true way of life. To commemorate Dyna's 40th anniversary in 2008, we made this video. On March 31, 2009, Dyna found a new owner and she's off to another 40 years of sailing.

This boat graced the inside cover of a 70's Yachting magazine promoting the Rhode Island Developement Corp. I wrote S & S about the design and received a treaured letter from Olin about Dyna. Thanks for the video.
