Persepolis, my favourite scene

"Persepolis" is a 2007 French animated film based on Marjane Satrapi's eponymous autobiographical graphic novel. This was one of my favourite scenes from the movie, where Marjane becomes acquainted with the vogue French philosophy of the 1980's. I found her pragmatic response to the nihilist was especially insightful.

I am half Iranian. I never felt very connected to that side since I would always go to punk shows and metal shows and all my friends were European-derived... but then I saw this movie, and realized how different I was, and how all my friends enjoyed that. It was due to my father's way he brought me up. When I saw the way she grew up, it was the same as myself. I love this movie, it's beautiful and reminds me of my own trials and tribulations growing up during those turbulent years.
