President Bill Clinton shares an anecdote with President Barack Obama, at a memorial service (on 8/30/2008) for the late Ohio Congresswoman, Stephanie Tubbs Jones of Cleveland. (The first anecdote begins at 2:44 but the entire eulogy is well worth hearing--Bill Clinton is at his best in this clip)

Keep in mind that this was totally unscripted, as President Clinton was not scheduled to speak (he was not listed on the program, Senator Hillary Clinton originally spoke on his behalf).

To hear Obama's eulogy, go to this YouTube video:

Just look at how refreshing it is to hear President Bill Clinton speak. Our country needs an intelligent and inspirational voice back in the White House again and that is exactly what we will get with Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States of America.

  • Reagan was too old, and Bush wouldn`t stand a chance in hell. Only good presidents could get a third term. I don`t think many presidents would run for a third run anyway. But if Clinton had been the candidate in 2000 he would have re-elected, and George W. Bush would never have been president!

  • this is how it should be when you listen to a leader speak. it should make you WANT to listen to him because it's intelligent and inspiring.

neither mccain nor palin have that quality.

  • @chetohimler

"but the economy was almost as bad as it is today."

You must be out of your mind.

  • He wasn't talking about Obama, he was talking TO obama.

  • True...

    But you know whats funny?

that back in the 30's and 40's democrats were dominatin the country when FDR was in office

then through the 70's through the 80's republicans dominated the white house when nixon, ford and reagan took over..

todays politicans are trying to use them same old tactis these former presidents have done in the past...

and i doubt obama is any better...

  • What? You say, "I dont know how good Bush was, but Bill was better"? If you dont know how can you comment? That the problem with Dems. You don't have facts. Yes Bill had a zero defiect, but the economy was almost as bad as it is today. He coward over foreign policy, just like everyother Democrat President.

  • what a class comment the Lady made(about the jewelry)..and many others more She did(known/unknown)...a good speech by Clinton as well!

  • The funniest part of conservatives is that most of them don't even profit from the so-called values that they treasure, only the lobbyists and the corporations & the ultra rich that support the conservative politicions who make their fortunes possible and the lax tax laws that allow them to keep their fortunes intact while the middle & lower class work to take up the slack in the taxes that they ( the ultra rich) dont pay.

  • lol fact check plz clinton wasn't trying to go against iraq he was going against OSAMA BIN LADEN. If it weren't for retard conservatices bringing up the Monica scandal he could have proabably stopped 9/11

  • Clinton was not suggesting that the first grader who said he, Clinton, could not be President because he was alive was Barack Obama. He was saying because of the candidacy of Obama, no child would ever say that, or believe that, again.

  • i don't get how that anecdote can make sense, Obama couldn't have been 6 when clinton was in office

  • lol you think bush started the iraq war. how about you look towards the end of clinton's presidency and his declaration of combat missions against Iraq, and the democratic lobbying for that war which included harsh criticism against bush for not going into iraq immediately
