good grief. Will someone tell Clara & the Nutcracker Prince (as well as Drosselmeyer) to sit their asses down in the 2nd act? I suggest everyone watch the original 1984 film of this production, with Leslie Collier as Sugar Plum.

Dowell ruined this staging by having Clara prance about with the national dances in the divertissement. It used to be sublime.

How did Pyotr manage all those strings together,its amazing what he heard and then to arrange it perfectly not just for strings but for all instruments especially the flutes which are my favorites. There are segments where he blends the instruments to sound like an organ,its amazing!
