Our mission is to maximize potential through meaningful employment and training opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.
FWI is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that has provided employment for adults with disabilities since 1975.
FWI began with one full-time staff member and 25 employees in a small office on 39th Street in Kansas City, Missouri.
As the need for vocational services grew throughout Jackson County, the organization expanded and moved to its current location at 12600 Third Street in Grandview, Missouri in 1981.
Since our beginning, we have provided employment for hundreds of adults with disabilities, who would otherwise not have had the opportunity to be gainfully employed. FWI has developed a reputation as a trusted and quality-oriented service provider of vocational services for people with developmental disabilities.
While providing much-needed services for our citizens, we have also developed long-term relationships with many business customers. Recognized for quality and dependability, FWI has established an outstanding reputation with the business community as well.
We are very proud of our long and successful history. While we embrace our past, we look forward to the challenges of continuing to provide relevant services to a new generation of employees and businesses.
