Jesus, this is getting boring. How on earth would a passenger riding in the train feel the body roll of a 47 hauling it ? I've already said that it is a good video, but the shite being spread by some of the commentators is absurd. So one last time...THAT BODY ROLL IS QUITE NORMAL FOR A 47, THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT THE DRIVER IS DOING ANYTHING WRONG...FACT.

As above, perfectly normal "47 behaviour". Ive seen this many times and Ive been through that particular junction many times. You wana try some adverse cant at 95mph in one!!!
47's were always renowned for pitch and sway, a 50 rides alot better at speed.

hmmm... i guess if you went that fast over points then you would rock and roll like that... its just normal, i mean its not shaking vilontly and lifting up so its gotta be ok...

@ultimateavengerable So is posting comments such as this. In my experience guys such as urself only make such comments to initiate bravado and manly essence because either you are so low in intelligence that you can't handle a debate or else you are uncomfortable with your own underlying homosexuality! Its a train for goodness sake. Comment of the actual vehicle and leave to sexuality slander out of it!

@ultimateavengerable To call someone Sexist or Racist is a statement but to call someone "gay" in that same sentence in your line of insult therefor makes people percieve you as homophobic. Next time re-read your comments before posting. Its called the world wide web for a reason!!!

Rather than whittling on about the driver, I'd just like to say.. What a beast!
I believe it was scrapped because it's body was twisted :(

@ultimateavengerable Not at all, speak your mind. That's what youtube is for.

@MickeyLove01 I'm sorry, dude. I was drunk that day. Must have flipped out at you. Sorry about that.
Granted, it's a good video. But as I said the comments regarding the driver, quite clearly suggesting that he is driving in a manner that would cause the body roll, have been made by people who don't know what they are talking about. As a driver of nearly 27 years,12 of them regularly working 47's on all sorts of trains, I feel well placed to comment.

Not doubting your comments .. this was probably a case of on rather than over the limit!

There is nothing unusual about that 47 leaning over like that, they all did it and at lowish speeds too. As a driver you just held on to the arm rests until it settled down. As for certain comments regarding the driver in this clip...keep them to yourself if you know nothing of what you're talking about.

I'm sure they all leaned over at some time or other but, on other trains of various types (freight, intermodal, mail, InterCity), videod through that junction on that day (but not yet uploaded), no class 47 leant anywhere near to the same extent - hence my reason for posting this video!

Haha love it! I work on the Cotswold Line and the speed limit on that junction is 75mph amazingly! It feels ridiculously fast going over those points at that speed on the HST.

I think the junction's been "improved" since 1995. Would the speed limit have been 75 mph then?
