Some of the strongest commentary I've read were from teens who are now afraid to go to school. Nora is only twelve, and she's "...scared and wicked sad" for the families, the friends, and everyone else who loved "...each innocent child who died!" She's so sad and scared to go to school that she can barely think about it. Morgan, who is fourteen, wrote that she and her friends "... are really disturbed by the fact that kids are killing each other in school. We have to go to school in fear. They say it'll never happen, but thats what the victims thought in Littleton. We talk about it everyday, mainly because we can't understand. We are just scared." Ashley had heard about guns and knives being brought to school about a year ago, and has been afraid to go ever since. A year later Ashley was stabbed at school. "Since then there have been guns , knives ext. brought to school . Guess what people METAL DETECTORS DO NOT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" wrote Ashley. "They have been in my school for 3 years and the violence still continues." Nicky wrote of a bomb threat at a nearby school on April 28: "Everyday it seems to be getting closer and closer to my hometown. It is just like Littleton and the kids here are the same way. One kid was suspended for wearing a trench coat to school. If it doesnt hapen this year then I know it is going to happen next yr. who knows with some of the kids in my school it could happen monday."

This just goes to show that gun ban in schools doesn't work. They will probably install metal detectors or body scanners at the entrance, making it into a police state.

its a sick world and these detectors can help protect people. Personally i don't understand what people mean by a police state. I agree their are laws in the judicial system as people have been gragged into crimes that they have been conected due to no fault of their own but as far as safety devices go i don't have a problem with that

we all need to get some type of dialouge going about preventing this and fixing the causes. This is a horrible tragedy.
