Portal - Chamber 15 - Secret Room

There is a crack between the glass pieces that allows you to access the room with all the chairs in it. I'm sure someone could find a use with 6 chairs at their disposal...

whether he cheated to get in the room or not, i don't know. but as for the portal on the door it's quite possible. why would you set the door to be "portal proof" when you (supposedly) cant get in there in the first place. also if he had used the cheat why would he have placed a portal there knowing that it would (supposedly) reveal it.

P.S. i've toyed around with the sdk few times so i know how things work somewhat.

@spykidX Yup, this doesn't make any fucking sense. I hope you can read the date this video was posted... aka, Nov 30, 2007. That was less than 2 months after the game came out, and most definitely the SDK was not available at that time.

@Transgenic86 portal uses the same engine as half life 2, called "source", and thus share the same sdk. so the sdk would have been available.

also, if this is from 2 months after the release its likely this is an early bug that has since been fixed in an update.

@spykidX Firstly, you are incorrect. There are different versions of the source engine. This one is considered the "Orange Box" version of the source engine because it is the one used for the Orange Box series of games. The SDK (which is game dependent, NOT engine dependent) was not available for this game yet at the time this video was made. Additionally, THIS HAS NEVER BEEN FIXED. ANYONE WITH HALF OF A BRAIN CAN SHOOT THIS PORTAL. Thank you.

Well, I think this IS possible. Portal has a kind of "emergency mechanic", called bumping, wich activates when a portal is fired onto another portal: the newly fired portal gets "bumped" (moved) on the left\right\up\down (whatever direction with a portal-able surface) of the portal it was placed onto. If this is done near edges, it can lead to VERY strange glitches, such as placing a portal outside the map, or, like done here, in a room where they shouldn't be placed. Try it yourself.

this isn't a cheat, since they didnt intend for the player to be in that room, they didnt use a real door, it's only a texture, which is why the portal sticks on it.

Valve does some of this stuff intentionally to fuck with people. You can find stuff like this in half life all the time,
