The ballet is based on an Italian Gianni Rodar´s famous children's book Il Romanzo di Cipollino ("The Adventures of the Little Onion", 1951), of which Rodari was awarded with the Hans Christian Andersen Award.
We just did this ballet and it was sooooo much fun to do but it wasnt quite as good as this... lol. and our cherry was a girl. the variations were almost the same though. man but professer pears double tours were INSANE!!!! he did 8 in a row!! i was a tomato :)
the background looks like something straight out of a Ghibli movie, and the acting is very cartoonish. Very charming.
