To be completely honest with you, I think that this was PERFECT!!!! I think that maybe the anime and/or manga should show the darker side of the countries and perhaps the brutal wars they had to go through WITHOUT making it cute and playful. To be honest, one day I'd like to see a darker APH... but that's probaby because I'm weird like that :D

A lot of people only think of Russia when they think of the worst of nations Dark!Hetalia wise. But everyone had their share of awful history. Spain and the Spanish Inquistion, France and (losing) the Napolenic Wars. Prussia, and well, dying. Italy and the Revolution against Austria. Etc.
