um...not true. You hear working fire you best be more focused on your response. Nevermind making more noise if it isnt needed. I am a firm believer that you should use the siren while responding...but there is a time and place for the amount of noise you actually make. It has nothing to do with what type of incident you are responding to.
In fact I have found that the less noise you make, the calmer the crew is when they arrive on scene...leaving it a safer environment for everyone.

@YorkEngine4 very true bro. we hit a working fire one morning, and when i sat in my seat, i accidentally hit the alarm on the PASS, and it made everything seem chaotic. however, experience had already taught me to stay calm, shut it off, and double check i had everything on correctly.
