  • @tomlen incorrect, best buy does meet online prices (of local competitors) IF that local location has them instock.

  • It happens when they hire a bunch of uneducated idiots on power trip to be the Manager of the world's biggest retailer. Bestbuy is bullshit, Walmart is an even bigger bullshit. Unless they come with a strategy, Walmart can never kick Bestbuy to ground, despite the fact they're cheaper and has a much better return policy than Bestbuy.

  • @weirdalok I think I would rather have the price matching instead of ad matchinf 364 days a year than ad matching 1 day that its worth it...nevermind shopping on black friday in the first place lolz!

  • @Tomlen actually we can match online prices IF it's a good business deal. He wanted over 20 cameras! I would match the price. As a best buy associate you never say straight no, you always see what you can do first

  • Actually I'm surprised that the Best Buy matched the online price of Walmart. I work at Best Buy and our policy is we do not match online prices because they are large warehouses that get them for much cheaper. We only match local in-store prices. Employees are actually supposed to call the local store and verify the in store price and verify it's available.

  • Uhm...so what. Sounds like you got exactly what you asked for.

  • Wal-mart doesnt price match, they "ad match" which means you have to have an ad from the store you want to match with. Having worked there for two years i have found that is a common misconception. One beef i have with best buy however is that they advertise price matching, but on black friday they refuse to do it while walmart will ad match every black friday ad out there provided the store is local to the area.

  • i work at petco and they will not match they online prices.

  • exactly right. It seems pretty common sense, especially if ur a sales guy to not compare the online price to the actual physical retail price and try to match it.

Ofcourse, Walmart wouldn't do it and they shouldn't. Actually you're lucky you were able to get it for the $ that Best Buy sold it to you. Technically, the manager @ Wal-mart shouldn't have done it simply because the idiot at Best Buy is matching the online price of Wal-Mart.

  • The guys at Best Buy screwed up, they should not have matched an online price. Most retailers will not because you can get anything for any price online. If everyone matched these then retailers would go out of business. People go into these stores and steal thousands of dollars in product then open their online stores selling for pennies on the dollar sometimes. That is why.
