This video was taken on June 13, 2008...I've never seen this before, but Carroll's (and I believe Denison's also because they never showed a current report either in the time this outage occurred) Weatherstar XL was broken in some way. Storm Lake is the backup city in this video...and it was like this for about three weeks. I checked TWC in Carroll this weekend (Jun 28-29) and it is back to normal.

Also, Iowa (Cedar Rapids more everywhere else) was the center of attention with some rare continuous Iowa Weather Channel footage. Man it sucks for them.

  • Carroll still has the Weatherstar XL as of March 2011...but from where I'm from, there are two cable companies in the area that still use the WeatherStar 4000...

  • Man I wish it were still in the 80s right now!

  • wow, Storm Lake is so far of Carroll, your backup city isnt supposed to be Auburn?

  • lol Auburn is a podunk 200 population town...Denison would be an appropriate Backup City instead but I'm not God over The Weather Channel so I can't make the change.
