@hikinguphigh The reason you don't show up in the picture is because you are not lit up like the LEDs are, and you are in constant motion. The landscape is visible because it is up by the moon, however the person isn't because they are constantly moving. If you were still, you would show up in the photograph.
It's the same thing when you look at a long exposure of traffic at night, you can see the light trails of the cars (and the roads), but not the car itself.

@pimpjuice8921573 hah thanks man! and yes if you look at any youtube account, sometimes you will see that the older videos are really weird but after a while they start to get the hang of things - i still have a long way to go IMO :)

@PhotoExtremist Alright, thanks! And also, I tried to 'Light Paint' using rope lights like you did but it didn't turn out like an orb (it kinda looked like a messy blob), could you give me some tips or advice? :P

How do you get yourself invisible, in that circle of colors? Btw your videos are amazing keep going!

@PhotoExtremist i guess my camera is different. i got the olympus pen and iso only goes down to 200. orbs come in clear when 3 ft away but further out blurry. tried my friends nikon compact and came out good with same setings. still new to this only started 1 months ago

im a beginner and Im so curious on how you got the picture @3:52? like the freeze motion.
When exactly should you take the photo? That's what confuses me, even though I've never attempted to take a light painting photo, that's one of the things that's holding me back because I don't know when to take the picture to capture the actually light painting. Could you help me out with that?

how do u get the focus in? all my outdoor orbs come in blurry. do u focus on lights from a distance then take pic? or am i missing some thing. allmost all my indoor ones come in clear
tallicafan85 3 weeks ago
@tallicafan85 Yes, focusing on a light (I like to place a flashlight on the ground wherever i want to focus, and then face the flashlight to the camera) and focus on that. Then switch to manual focus, turn off the light, and you will be all set

How do you take long exposure shots with a canon 60d?
extraMAYYO 3 weeks ago
@extraMAYYO Same with any DSLR you use: Just increase the shutter speed to several seconds, and the picture will be taken for amount of time you dialed into your camera.
