After a stunning thunder and lightning show northwest of Gibson City, i decided to leave work at the pool and head out and check it out. I didn't expect very much from it, but figured i might as well look. Sure enough, i caught some interesting cloud features and stuck with it towards Melvin, about 10 miles northeast of Gibson. Caught up with my father who fled work in a hurry after seeing the developing tornado. We followed this storm clear to the indiana border. Had alot of troubles on the way, including no computer for weather data, low batteries on the cameras and little memory as well, and a brake that caught fire. All in all, it was one of the greatest chases i have had in a long time, and possibly ever. I am putting my official tornado count at 3, with a possible fourth satellite tornado near Rossville. Went up later to Pontiac and Piper City for another tornado warned storm, just got alot of lightning, and sat at home as a monster of a storm developed and gave us 70-80mph winds causing widespread wind damage in the Gibson City area.
