Yea you have to go through China. They don't allow anyone in from South Korea or direct from US. You have to go through tourist agencies or North Korea embassies in places like China,Russia.

@jxsilicon9 i saw a documentary on North Korea and they wouldnt allow American's into the country, not even the people filming the documentary, they needed to have an chinese doctor tag along to pretend they were documenting his medical procedures for eye surgery.
