The violence in Afghanistan continues to escalate. This week alone has seen two major suicide bomb attacks as well as an acid attack on young girls making their way to school. 2008 has been the bloodiest year since the US-led invasion in 2001 and many are now calling for a change in strategy.

Sir David talks to the Afghan Foreign Minister Rangin Dadfar Spanta and asks him whether he believes there can be a military solution to the current situation in Afghanistan.

their will not be any solution for Afghanistan unless your cowered American army not put feed in Paki land to destroy the terrorist your lawmakers and ur government are stupid u pay money and give weapons to Pakies and they pass it to Taliban and the kill your soldiers with ur money and weapon this war can be stopped in on month read this one month give Pakistan a warning like u did to Saddam you have to give the head of taliban and kicked them out in a month or we will.....

@staaplar So, if you are going to criticise someone's English skills, you should make sure yours are impeccable.

As with Karzai teaching him I take that as a joke, because Karzai has spent the majority of his life running a couple of restaurants in America, and doing some work for UNOCAL, an American oil company, which is why his English is not bad.

staaplar He is a very well educated man, he taught at the RWTH Aachen University in Germany, he speaks German better than most German's, he is also an expert on foreign relations, and prior to becoming foreign minister, was a frequent guest on BBC Persian, discussing different issues.

Obviously you are a not a native speaker of English but are arrogant enough to assume that your English is flawless.
