STORY PLOT:

After Shuyin dies, he finds himself unable to reach the Lifestream, the eternal resting place of the dead. Wandering, he finds himself in a place between: the Far Plane. There, he meets Aerith for the first time, seemingly waiting for him. He mistakes her for an angel and she laughs it off, introducing herself. She takes him to the church where she tended the flowers there in life. He makes a move to walk towards her, but she stops him, warning him not to step on the flowers. Although they find comfort in each other's presence, he refuses to talk about himself, more specifically, his death. Eventually, he starts to open up to her slowly and she begins to feel herself falling in love. On one occasion, she comments on how beautiful his eyes are. As they become closer, she relates the events of her death. After a while, he begins to face his death and tells Aerith that he has to go, promising that they will meet again. He leaves the Far Plane to travel to the sight of his demise, under Bevelle. She follows him and watches as he relives the events of his death. He starts to loose control of himself and breaks down, realizing finally that he is truly dead. Suddenly, the scene around him dissipates as he finds himself floating aimlessly. Aerith's voice reaches him, telling him he didn't have to hang on any longer. Shuyin opens his eyes to see Aerith smiling down at him. Accepting all that has happened to him, he takes her hand and follows her into the Life Stream.
