'Do-Wak-A-Doo... Yeah!' Merry Christmas and happy new year Big Jake and to all of you :))
1. ROYKSOPP: Simply one of my favorite tracks of the year. Catchy, space, full of hope; I'm sure ready for it. A wonderful use of the Parliament sample and some interesting remixes (unreleased in North America). Since the radio version is very short, the track is played in full. Be sure to watch the excellent video of it.
'Happy Up Here' is my tribute to MJ, wherever he is. And speaking of the man...
2. MICHAEL JACKSON / JORDY / CECE PENISTON: The drum break of 'Rock With You' was sampled countless of times, but never credited. Here are two examples: the first one will terrify some of you since it's contained in none other than in the French hit of 1992-93 'Dur Dur D'être Bébé' sung by Jordy. For those who don't know Jordy, he was probably the youngest 'Dance' star ever with a record deal with Sony Musique at only 4 years old. His father, producer Claude Lemoine and mother Patricia Clerget took care of his world tour, and many other singles and albums. After the French public accused Lemoine and Clerget to exploit their son, they divorced. Many years later, Jordy realised there was nothing left in the safe: his father had took all the money and royalties he received as a child.
CeCe Peniston delivered at least two great House classics: 'Finally' and 'We Got A Love Thang' (mixed by Steve 'Silk' Hurley), which also embodies the MJ drum break.
3. MODERN ROMANCE / ALEX GAUDINO FEAT. CRYSTAL WATERS - The song of Modern Romance may have absolutely nothing to do with the subsequent Eurodance hit by Chocolate with the same title, but it was sampled in this track of Alex Gaudino & Crystal Waters. One of the writers of 'Destination Unknown' is none other than Sharon May Linn who worked many times with the Italian duo Fathers Of Sound.
4. YELLO / TODD TERRY / CARL CRAIG AKA PAPERCLIP PEOPLE / RUFFNECK FEAT. YAVAHN: A sample of 'Bostich' used by two different DJ's, and by Ruffneck Feat. Yavahn.
5. MACEO & THE MACKS / X-SAMPLE: A return on the X-Sample track with the help of DreamboxDLD.
6:25 Jeniffer Lopez-Get Right =)

Haha. That's our famous 'Big Jake', Napoleon, the Midget porn actor, that you can see in a few episodes of AOS. It's a couple of visual samples that I like to put in my videos from time to time. :)
