This was the 1st year of the Ypsilanti Jamboree but will hopefully, not be the last. There were many talented musicians with almost as many ilks, only one of which I am featuring here.

Mike Silverman, aka, " That 1 Guy", is seen in this video playing The Magic Pipe, an instrument he built out of plumbing materials. He also plays The Magic Saw and The Magic Boot. His unusual style of entertainment also includes nonsensical lyrics such as evidenced on his album, "The Moon is Disgusting". He often lets the audience know that a particular number is over with a little wolf howl (particularly apropos at this event since he was performing beneath a full moon).

I had the pleasure of meeting Mike backstage after his performance at The Ypsilanti Jamboree in Riverside Park. He was very sweet, unpretentious, and friendly to everyone.

  • YEAAAAA YPSILANTI!!

  • @betheoyster You are so right! Thank you for watching :-)

    Marc

  • Very cool!

Strangely...last week when my plumber connected similar pipes...all he achieved was making the water flow.

    Thanks Mark...for posting this.

  • Glad you enjoyed it, beeke :-)

  • What a set of pipes he has

(couldn't help myself- it was either that or I didn't know that you could have so much fun with a pipe, without smoking it)

  • It amazes me that an individual could build something like that. Took me and a friend about 45 minutes to replace a toilet handle, yesterday.
