  • it is well known in guangdong that yuen kay san is not only senior to, but vastly superior in skill to yip man, who was really a nobody in guangdong. yuen kay san has chinese government recorded fights and accomplishments made during his life.

yip chun and si kwok are apologizing to yuen kay san's grandson for making his grandfather look like a nobody in the film. it would be like making a film where michael jordan can't dribble.

  • actually yip man was taught a little bit of sticky hands from yuen kay san when the yip family was housed by the yuen family after the yip family's home was burned down

you can look up yuen kay san on wingchunpedia

  • Like Sum Neng’s widow said: "Sum Neng made the right decision when he turned down Yip Chun 3 times, when Yip begged for instructions in WC at her house. Leung Ting was very sincerely learning everyday for a month at our house too, then turned around and bad mouthed Sum Neng in his book. "

"Back stabing" seem to be the only secret technique Yip passed down. Watch your own back!

  • this may sound very stupid and i understand if i am criticized but what are they apologizing for?

  • Yip wasn't taught by Yuen Kay San, Yuen's only disciple was Sum Neng. Yip learned what he learned from a student of Yuen. The mainland style of Wing Chun was never passed down to Yip. Yip was a good fighter though.

  • Why at the confrontation Yip said everything was just a fiction?

Would you make the next movie screwing your father or teacher? You probably would, it is just a fiction right? Stupid!

Now it all makes sense that Leung Ting has no respect for Yip Chun, and Emin have no respect for Leung Ting, and you have no respect for your teacher and father…so on.

  • Only the old grandmasters from different styles know that Yuen Kay San and Sum Neng were the best in Wing Chun…grandmaster of Hun Ga from NY, Grandmaster Yao Gung Moon from LA, Grandmaster of Lost Track from the bay area, Grandmaster of White Eyebrow, Taiji grandmaster Lau…

Why before the confrontation between Yuen, Yui and Yip Chun, Si , Yip Chun said in the promotional statement: "Yipman movie is 99% close to the real history…down to the little vast of his house?"

  • Are you a new student of Yip man or pretending to be? It is not just a movie. you can take a look at William Cheung’s book, and Leung Ting ‘s book; and ask thousands of Yip man’s students if they know Yuen Kay San taught Yip man sticky hands for 3 months while Yip lived at Yuen’s house—the Berry Gardens, when Yip’s house was burned down? Why don’t they know? Why do they all say Yip man taught Yuen?

  • @mofotox Chinese people can be very sensitive about such matters.

  • Who cares? It's only a movie stupid!
