This is one of my first laps on the GT Academy 2011, round 1, Eifel (103A) track.
I had the privilege to set one off the first laps in this Academy and put down the fastest lap. THere is still a lot of room for improvement, but you get the picture of the racing lines.
As you can see, for about a couple of minutes, I was first in the competition, regionaly but in the whole of Europe aswell ;-)

  • Hello I am interested in participating in the GT Academy 2012 I already have the GT5 What can I do? Participate in a tournament as I do to enroll. If authorities respond.

  • @cobratoxic Just wait till it comes I guess.....

  • I want to try this, too, but my father won't let my play GT because he thinks I would drive reckless in real life.

  • @MemberHomei I am actually a safer driver because of GT5. I don't have the urge to race the streets anymore, now I can do it without risk online at GT5...

  • @MemberHomei Your father does not know what this is. You have to try and persuade him to play with you. I am 40 years old and my son is 12 years old. First of all we are friends. We both play GT (with G27). GT helped him to understand what can and what he can't do. The GT mademe realize that he will become a better driver than me. I am a former race driver. I always drive safely on the road because I AM the example for my son, tell him this, and give him a hug..he will break. ;)

  • @MemberHomei your dad needs a wake up call...

  • @MemberHomei Damn, are you from an Amish family? Tell you're Dad that my experience in Simracing, not only GT5, probably saved my life more than once in hairy situations on the German Autobahn. If someone wants to drive reckless on the street, he'll do it with or without playing games. Remind him, that there are no robbery sims and still people get robbed occasionally.

  • @MemberHomei look im just gonna say it.. ur dad is a moron for thinking something like that. For 1 its a freaken video game! Nothing harmful comes out of it, unless some retard trys to imitate it in real life.

  • @03IanDAV My father doesn't even listen to what I say. If I start talking about traction or weight transfer, he ends the conversation by either saying that we're no racing drivers or that those topics are too dangerous.

I guess I'm going to have to borrow a copy of GT5.

And yes, he believes that games like GTA are responsible for running amok.

  • @03IanDAV LOL, russian accent... :D

  • @jiltjes Yeah, GT5 made me a safer and more self-confident driver, too. But my father is old-fashioned and doesn't believe a game could do that. He also thinks that shooter games have a negative impact on gamers...

He just hid my copy of GT5!
