A scraper or finishing tool that you can make for about $25.00. It works just like a commercially made tool for 4X the $$$. Easy to do without any fancy tools or gadgets. Get into it today.

  • another awesome video.... not 100% sure on why you put the 15% angle on it though...it that so it would be like a scraper that is held at an angle down so it is less awkward with the tool rest and such with this tool. Thanks again

  • that's why. When I scrape at an angle I rarely get catches. Try it.

  • Thanks for the video I just finished mine with some variations and it works great.

  • you are a lovely man obviously passionate about the same things as me you are extremely helpful i will always look for you for help plus you make me laugh and i am definitely going to make this tool will be fun turning my first tool handle

  • Hey Capn Eddie,

At about 2:00 into this video you mention that the gap between the "washer", which I am assuming is the cutter itself, and the shoulder is important. But you don't say anything more in detail. Just to make certain are you saying you need to make sure there is a gap so that the cutter doesn't rub on the shoulder of the notch? (This would seem prone to wearing away that edge.) Care to clarify what you meant?

    Thanks!

  • If you had 0° it the shavings would come straight up. The 15° allows the shavings up and away to the right.
