@BeauJSimpson Pretty much. He has his amp set up to start to overdrive when his guitar volume is at 10, so he moves the volume knob on his guitar to like 8 when he wants a cleaner sound, then back up when he wants dirt, and so on.

@canadiangeo well whats the point in all this arguing? I personaly love the white stripes, but i cant denie that meg whites drumming skills are not that good. Anyways, who defines what good music is or, what "understanding music" realy means. I think people should be less self confident and look at things from each and every angle, a bit more empathy could make the life on earth much more comfortable. If you wanna know what J. White is about i'd advise you to watch: "it might get loud"

what is he doing to the knob on his guitar in between riffs? he does it a lot at the blackpool lights show, is he just messing with the volume?
