  • Mexican wrestling mask you say, could this be the inspiration for Buckethead? This is the most comfortable and genuine interview I have seen with DH.

  • shitty video keeps pausing.

  • @shashwati: Excellent point, shashwati. I don't claim to be an expert on them but I thought I read somewhere that Tommy had is foot in the door working in some of the top studios in the city for alot of top producers. He had excellent contacts as well as engineering and producing ambitions. Those qualities alone made him indespensible.

  • I used to have a girlfriend who looked like young debbie harry. my god do I miss that sex..

  • hmm...i guess I have to agree on that count, 'cause that IS true...but not to minimalise what Tommy meant to the band, of course...

  • I totally agree with you on all parts. Tommy rules! But he's definitely not "the band". Sure, Tommy had a good eye that his friends were colourful people who easily could put a great band together. but it was nothing more than "advice of a good friend". There's lots of bands in the world that had the advice of a good friend...but that doesn't make them responsible for the groups legacy and sound.

  • i dunno, in a way, Tommy was the essential catalyst, 'cause he'd been telling Johnny to start a band and Johnny would just dismiss this (this is from the movie)....so of course, when he did want to, who does he go to - Tommy of course, 'cause he was the guy that planted the idea's seed...plus he clearly had a lotta insight about the kinda drums the band would need, which I think was essential...so I think Tommy was almost as important as the others..

    plus he's a really nice-seeming guy :)
