WBBM-TV Chicago - Channel 2 10PM Weekend News (August 10th, 1986)

From WBBM-TV Chicago, here are some clips from the 10PM Weekend News with Robin Robinson, Lester Holt, Harry Volkman with weather, and Howard Sudberry with sports. The graphics and opening were different, as well as the musical cuts they were using at the time, which had the classic "I Love Chicago" signature on them. This was probably due in part to the station slowly retiring the use of the iconic Dick Marx signature theme, though you can still hear that theme on the closing credits and one of the teasers.

this was probably right when harry Porterfield made the jump to WLS. I remember hearing something how he was demoted to the weekend shift when bill kurtis came back from new york, which caused jesse jackson to stage a boycott of wbbm. Porterfield left for WLS and they then hired Lester Holt.

Wow, I didn't know Robin Robinson was on WBBM, I always pictured her on WFLD, plus Lester Holt was cute back then.
