This is a view of the old server & network data room before it is moved to the new location, which will have better server environment (electrical & ventilation) as well as upgrading the network to gigabyte speed. Multiple servers running Windows 2003 and a Macserver (In addition to the 180 present computers, and 50 printers, we are adding some 60 new additional computers as well as replacing those over 4 years old, some 200 new computers overall. The Mac server will be replaced with a new XServe rack mounted running Leopard Server 10.5 I'm going to be very busy as the sole technical person. You can hear the sound level in this server room is very noisy due to the fans going full speed.
The wireless network will be upgraded to a managed type this summer. This is very costly $$dear.

We have 12 servers which include 3 Mac servers and 9 Dell brand servers running Windows Server 2003.
Wireless access is provided via WAP's in most of the floors, near the users. We will be upgrading to a managed wireless controller, and changing to Gigabit network switches.

  • @samlaxrocks Use cables without the boots. It will turn out much nicer.

  • You need to get a rackmount monitor, keyboard, and mouse... and a rackmount KVM. Also, use cables without the boots. I twill turn out so much nicer.
