the shaykh was probably not talking about sea sickness, he was talking about fluctuations in weather, such as getting a cold, cough, or sickness in that sense not sea sickness. Also, when he spoke about Ibn Batouta never getting stopped, I'm quite sure he was talking about him stopping out of tiredness or fatigue the way a normal person would. Being robbed does not take away from Ibn Batouta's strength in travelling and this is what the shaykh was talking about.
