As one who annually did reviews of all the ABT performances in the 1970s, I can say that Cynthia Gregory, who had no peer, still leaves me breathless.

Before I had seen Cynthia's performance in The River, my mind's eye was limited only to appreciation of her incredible technique, presence and beauty. But then a new thought stunned me. When I said I was left breathless, it came from my first deep realization of the sensuality she brought to the art.
