It's been almost 60 years and in 2001 Ares, the god of war has unleashed a global threat with the help of the Annihlator, an indestructible force forged from Hephasteus, the black smith of the Olympian gods. Sensing the danger in the outside world, Diana leaves the protection of Themiscyra as Wonder Woman to help the outside world in their 'darkest hour'. The mystery unfolds and she encounters an array of adverseries that earn her the title of Wonder Woman, remaining in the outside world to defeat the likes of Ares, Cheetah, Circe, Giganta, Dr Cyber, Aresia, Hades, Superwoman, Queen Bee, and Killer Frost.

Continued from "Wonder Woman The First Mission 1941".

Edited from the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited series 2001-2005 "Wonder Woman Returns 2001" presents Diana returning to her role as Wonder Woman to 'fight the forces of evil', but despite her mission, she has one void that she needs to fill since World War Two.

  • This looks like War of the Worlds.

  • @MadMichigander1313 Yes, the portion from "Secret Origins" is a homage to the original "War of The Worlds"

  • The end is the best thing.

  • Steve Trevor as William Moulton Marston intended him to be. The type of mortal man who Diana could fall in love with. Steve, like William, was ahead of his time. A hero in his own right, not only was Steve not threatened by Diana's strength as a woman, he loved and respected her all the more because of it. He totally disproved Hippolyta's ascertion that all men were brutes seeking to conquer women.
