This is a short ride in a 1917 Model T Ford. As you can see there was no electric starter.

Ford wanted to make a small plane powered by a T engine, and it was gonna be called the ford flivver too.
but when the first one was built, a test pilot took it up
and it lost power and crashed.
and killed the pilot.
so that was the end of a personal flying ford plane.

@cramagraham
when they say spark, they mean the spark advance on the left side of the steering column.
manuallly control's how much advance goes to engine instead of automated like nowday's.

correction,,,, not to put you down, but ,,, the T was the Tin lizzie, AND CALLED THE FLIVVER TOO.
The Ford Tri Motor was called the Tin Goose,
as Henry Ford thought that the corregated aluminum covering on the plane looked like shiny tin.
and the long thick wing's looked like a goose in flight.
Tri Motor's were like the T, simple relaiable and easy to understand.
mannn you've got this one spot on in tuning
starts right up and runs good.
Ive been into model T's for yrs and they are alot better in alot of ways than modern car's.
reliable , simple and easy to understand.
Its funny Nobody knows what the "spark" is. Nobody.
