This was after they dumped the failed "ei8ht is news" experiment and started to be called FOX 8 News. Mark Spain is no longer with the station; he is now at WTEV in Jacksonville, FL. Tim Taylor retired on 12/23/05. Robin Swoboda is currently (as of 2011) at WKYC.

  • Nice use of the FOX 8 News logo on that sunset backdrop.

  • @tmisch64 If anyone is not stupid enough to find one!

  • @tmisch64 Yes, news89 has the opening and some graphics from that branding from a couple of newscasts.

  • There was also a very brief time when they used a branding of "Fox 8 Is News." That didn't last long though before they changed to "Fox 8 News."

  • This set used until 2007 was a work in progress & the music sounds soothing.

  • The voiceover's name is Paul Turner. He does voiceover at my local cable news channel, Bay News 9.

  • Does anyone HAVE the "Fox Ei8ht Is News" open?

  • I think I liked this music the best out of all the news themes Fox 8 has had. The graphics were pretty bland, but the music was great. I was mad when they changed it, lol.

  • The open at 1:04 is so cheaply done. There was a brief two-week period when it was formally called "Fox 8 IS News," and actually had a nicely done open in retrospect. Then the "IS" was dropped, and... we got this.

  • well, it sounds like disney music.
