  • That's not a Mercury Capri, that's a Ford Capri. If I was to guess about a 1975-76. It didn't become the Mercury Capri in the U.S. until 1978 or 1979 and it was based on the Mustang Fox bodied car. The Ford Capri was imported from either the UK or Germany, I'm not sure which. I know when I lived in Germany they were everywhere.

  • @axsimulate Well I guess what it says on the title is wrong then someone contact ford/mercury

  • thats where we run my brothers maverick

  • I seen a maverick their a few weeks ago on a saturday in the foot brake class. I believe it was a maverick. It dialed in a 6.62? I had my dart that runs king of street class on true radials. I dialed in a 6.64 and ran a 6.65. it was a close race.

  • is that in benton IL.??

  • yes it is

  • To asstro440 - Is this your car? It looks very nice with the "hockey stick" filled in like that. . I removed the fake rear "brake vents" and filled in their mounting holes which I found to be a big improvement alone in the looks. Is that the stock front bumper painted over? It also looks nice. I simply removed mine since it wouldn't help anyway in an accident and mounted a front air dam and huge rectangular Marschal halogen headlamps and smaller rectangle driving lamps below those.

  • @axsimulate In the USA Ford sold the (German) Capri under its Mercury division beginning with the 1971 model. So if this is the USA version, then it was a Mercury Capri. I owned both a 1972 V6 Capri and a 1974 2L Capri when they were new I can tell you for a fact this car is either a 71 or 72 because their tail light was a single strip which had a lot of space above and below it in the rear panel vs a double row for '73 and newer. Also this is a coupe, whereas 1975 and newer were hatchbacks.

  • That's one bad lil' MF you got there Bro

  • If youre interested in selling that, send me an email. Im seriously looking for a race car and am a cash buyer. Thanks.
