steam train at speed 43

It's a bitterly cold 15 December 2003 at Steventon, Hampshire. 4472 whistles (screeches) for a crossing before emerging from the trees to traverse the skyline. The train is a VSOE Pullman special heading for Southampton Docks. As it passes the birds scatter - the cattle are left unmoved.

It's Steventon near North Waltham (just off the A303) Grid ref is SU 544 378 - footpath/farm track heads north under sizeable railway bridge - not sure how the vegetation looks in summer!

Hi Will, my apologies for not replying sooner, this comment came through my email inbox just 5 minutes ago, so haven't had time to look on Google Earth. I will look into this location, however, as you say the vegetation will be an issue. May look at going there for the Capitals Express in late November.

Hi Will. As per usual, a top video. You don't remember by any chance where this location is. I've been a bit stuck for locations north of Winchester of late and am trying to scout out more!
