Great... more Touhou. Fuuuuun. Touhou GGD is a falling object puzzler similar to Tetris Attack or PdP, but with several nuances that cause fans of said game to adjust a little before they can have at it and with spells you can use by building up nuisance points and expending them to increase your power. I don't usually state my abilities when it comes to games, but I can confidently say that I'm a competent Tetris Attack (Panel De Pon, etc.) player, so I saw through this game right away and find it too easy by comparison.

To get any sort of challenge, I had to set the difficulty to a maximum of six AND give the computer the supreme advantage of "Extra" mode which turns all my junk into blue-colored drops, so they massively chain the second they break my piles without doing anything (note how it's below "Easy")... but that wasn't enough to give Patchoulli the edge. This is twice in a row that I fight her now that I think about it... I guess it's fitting payback for how cheap she is in some other games.

The main reason for doing it? It's one way to build maximum power and demonstrate spells-- getting into heated battles. While the computer had their chains made for them, I had to manually coordinate 10+ chains to build nuisance points. No other settings that I know of were really suitable enough for me to build enough power before defeating them. The game's chaining system is more lax than TA/PdP/Etc. (you can set them up more easily), so it's not like what I'm doing here is as intense as it looks or sounds.

Anyhoo, this is one of the "better" recent Touhou releases with cute movies and nice music and such, but the cast of characters is quite limited. If it gets expanded in the future with more characters and maybe some more difficulty settings (or it could have codes to make it harder like TA/PdP/Tec.), it would certainly be a nice one. There are several modes from a basic versus mode and story mode to a sort of training and puzzle mode. You can also supposedly play over the net, but of course I haven't tried it.

Rather than playing several opponents on normal difficulty, I felt like playing one on high difficulty. Two movies are also in this video at the beginning and end, and the usual menu browsing in our vids. The video was designed to show how it would look when playing normally (60FPS), so this is basically as fast as it gets. Enjoy.
