Steffen Peters and Weltino's Magic as demo performers at the USDF 2011 Symposium in San Diego, CA. It is a moment of teaching piaffe from the ground - Anne Gribbons coaching - and the horse's incredible personality and charm. There is the story behind it. Weltino's Magic is a very confident horse, which can do whatever, but he has a sweet tooth. There was a short friendly argument between the Symposium's trainers about the treats for horses, and Anne was a strong supporter of sugar cubes. With microphone in one hand and whip and sugar in another hand, she demonstrates to public how those two last tools work together. Weltino's Magic is showing much appreciation and makes a great job, but does not forget to ask for treats when he's been such a good student. This way of going makes him the public's favorite - he got many more fans that day. Really a Wonder Horse

  • All quite funny until you are in the middle of a test and your horse stops and demands his cookie.

  • @Cheriec11 The meaning of this video was to demonstrate the horse's personality. The whole hour before they were riding like pro, pleasure to watch and never making any stops for cookies. You think too low of horses. Horses are not robots, and they don't need to be used like soulless machines. Sour, dull and non-emotional horse will more likely to stop or react badly in the middle of the test.

  • Thanks for sharing! This is really wonderful. Positive Reinforcement works!

  • They don't stop in the middle and ask for cookies. I'm so tired of all the negative feelings about rewarding horses with treats. People have been brainwashed into thinking it doesn't work and should never been done.

  • Wonderful video and he obviously thinks he is doing a good job! Keep up the good work and keep on keeping with those cookies! :)

  • @treasureisland970 It is never good to assume you know what someone thinks. I actually think quite highly of horses. They are smarter than a lot of the humans that handle them. Since I have observed many occurances of horses stopping to demand their treat in the middle of something because of owners who use food reward excessively I had enough understanding to base my comment on. It is in fact quite possible for a horse to be happy and enjoy his work without the expectation of a food reward.

  • Excellent!!

  • Wonderful video!! It's awesome to see professionals using positive reinforcement. :)

  • Check our Shannon Peters wearing the Embrazio Cellphone Holster.
