This is perhaps my favorite Victrola record in my meager collection. VICTOR 18086 was issued in 1916 and is presented here, played on our VICTOR TALKING MACHINE VV-VI. Narrator Harry E. Humphrey quotes verses from God's Holy Bible (KJV) with passion. In Luke chapter 2, he reads verses 8 through 11, 13 and 14. He quotes verse 16 incorrectly. Verse 16 starts with, "And they came with haste". The narrator says, "And the shepherds came with haste". Then he jumps to the book of Matthew chapter 2 and quotes part of verse 1, all of verse 2, part of verse 9 and part of verse 11. His Bible hopping was likely an attempt, and a commendable one I think, to present a cohesive biblical narration of the most beautiful and miraculous event in the history of mankind. The record label says only Luke 2. It is my prayer that all who view this video will be blessed by it. Merry Christmas!
Thank you and likewise to you and yours.
