I don't know who the original authors had in mind as to who "you" refers to here. It's a country song, probably about a relationship between a man and a woman. It could just as easily be interpreted that "you" is Jesus Christ, so that's what I did. The song was written by Kostas and John Scott Sherrill. Bottom line is: Jesus loves us!
