Kinect for shooters

In this video I will show how to combine Kinect with a traditional controller. This might me great use for shooters.

You will be able to switch between motion cotrol a normal dual stick mode at any time without even pausing the game.

Because Kinect is not yet released at this moment, I used the free webcam based program CamSpace to demonstrate it.
Main problem with CamSpace is that it's depending on the ligtning in the room it's used. ( To track the wihte controller, I needed to ware black clothes and make my room almost completely dark. )

Kinect won't have this problem
Instead of tracking the controller, Kinect will track the body that is holding the controller.
And because it uses a heat sensor it will be able to do that at any lightning condition.

Because Camspace is just an emulation program, the tracking isn't 100% perfect. Also my webcam it pretty poor as it runs only at 320x240 with 15 frames / sec.

i only have a black controller, and Green halo 3 odst controller... but are you sure kinect will have this function, and how do you know?

Well, its up to the developers if they are gonna support it but the color of the controller shoulden't be an isseu because kinect tracks your body that is holding the controller and not the controller self.

if it was real when you moved the controller left it should aim right and if u moved right it should aim left... im 14 and i figured that out u should too.

this guy is an idiot kinect doesnt use controllers thats why its kinect! if u wanna have to hold something and push buttons go play killzone 3. The way a kinect fps would work is imagine ur in box, whatever u do ur character does,run in place to run,step foward to walk,aim at the screen with ur hand to aim all i cant think of is how to shoot and reload? some kind of hand movement 4 sure. give it a year or 2 and well have a good shooter for kinect hopefully sooner tho

Sorry cont... You have to do is aim with the gun and move using regular buttons. You could also use your body to simulate ducking leaning etc. Why is this so hard for developers and gamers to imagine.
