you are aware that traction control systems can reduce engine output in order to keep the tires from spinning, right?

Turning the traction control off Does help the car in a race b/c a small amount of tire spin kicks up the rpms higher on the torque curve and avoids a bog take-off. Just as a stall torque converter would do. Plus it's cheaper to wear the tires Than the clutch.

turning off traction control doesnt help the car at all in a race, it means its not engaded and inaffective in doin anything, u must of meant why didnt they turn it ON not off, no big deal and dont have to get pissed at him for it.
