ined!!!!!! -
@QuantumWtfis We played this when I was in the sixth grade (Lyndon Johnson was president, gas was a quarter a gallon, and our carpool included two moms driving Studebakers). I remember falling off the chair when the timbales kicked in!

2nd drum break i believe is too loud...thats supposed to be piano(in the one we had anyways)...i know we used different mallets for the temple blocks and we had the timbales player switch to congas

@5610winston I agree Winston. It is also a piece that separates the drummers from the percussionists!!
-
Tubas!! Pump that bass!!!
-
@betarich Yeah, I heard it.
As difficult as the euphonium part was (I was playing it on a trombone with "F" attachment), ya gotta admire the woodwinds with the unending scales and trills. This is a demanding and unrelenting piece for every player once it gets going!
The band I was in was 5th to 7th graders, and we got a "superior" rating with John Barnes Chance in the audience (but not judging).

man we played this my senior year in highschool. i loved it! we got straight ones in contest with this piece. this one you can hear mistakes in the clarinets. but maybe that's just because i played a clarinet. :)

@stowsux I'm playing the Bari Sax part in a concert tonight and while it's a really difficult part it's so much fun.

good, jus saying the horn, trombone and euphonium triplet quarter notes at lik 2:23 need to b way louder!!! it should b crazy! i've heard it described as needing to sound lik someone is tearing sheet metal before...haha that loud! jus how a trombone/horn duet should sound!!! and the euphonium just levels it out

@stowsux hahahaha i know i've been playing bari sax for 2 years and i always have about 25 measures of rest in the first 30 measures but this is super fun to play
like this if you've played this in high school or middle school :)

Played this in High School. Ten years later, I still love this tune; it's one of the few out there for baritone sax that doesn't bore the player to tears.
