Anyone who doesn't think Life is an Adventure must be stuck in a rutt between work and sitting in front of the TV. Adventure is just through the door. All you have to do is open it and put one foot in front of the other.
In late October the die hards went on what has now become our annual paddle trip into the unknown. The choice for this year's trip actually came down to the flip of a coin. Heads up sent us to South Core Banks and Shackleford Banks. Tails would have sent us to the Great Dismal Swamp. That will be another adventure.
We only paddled 8 miles round trip, but don't let anyone ever tell you that it's only 8 miles when you have 25 knot winds with 2 to 4 foot seas. It was some of the hardest paddling we have ever done, but the rewards were unforgettable.
