The Swoopin' Stus look different, the electrogoo isn't hurting Mario (a bigger question is WHY IS IT IN GELATO BEACH)
Also, Gooper Blooper looks much cooler here.

I like seeing how different Mario games were in their betas. Now, betas don't have much of a difference.
I love this game. I remember my brother and I would play this a lot and tell the other about stuff that happens in the game if one of us isn't there yet. Now, it's not like that. People just switch to first/third person games. Screw that, I'll always play Mario games until I loose the movement in my fingers.

The whole water gimmick seems very Japanese, its still a great game though!
