*Experts believe the US war on terror alley Pakistan has made progress against militants but despite gains some of the terrorists groups operating from Pakistan tribal areas retain its capability to strike both domestic and abroad.
Brian Fishman is a security analyst with a Washington-based leading US think-tank New America Foundation. He told Urdu VOA in an interview that Pakistan has conducted operations against militants in the tribal areas but these infact remain the places particluelry North Wazirstan from where Alqaeda and Haqqani group are still operating.
Pakistan continues to target armed militants and Interior Minister Rehman Malik told Urdu VOA nobody will be allowed to challenge the writ of the government and only Pakistan will decide to conduct further operations in South or North Wazirstan.
Imtiaz Gul is the Executive Director of an Islamabad-based Center for Research And Security Studies he thinks Pakistan military operations in Swat and tribal areas of Waziristan have been successful. *
